The Faculty of Economics at the University of Pécs will host the 9th Interdisciplinary Symposium on Consumption titled "We Live in Space" on November 14, 2024. The event will take place in person at the Dr. József Halasy-Nagy Hall at the Faculty, but participants may also join online by registering in advance.

Key topics of the symposium include:

  • Experiences and research findings regarding the significance and explanatory power of space in various sectors.
  • Whether the increasing importance of virtual space creates a new quality or simply reflects the duplication of the world.
  • Strategies that support the positive re-evaluation of space and its influence.
  • How companies, institutions, nonprofit organizations, and consumers respond to the new interpretation of space.

Researchers from various disciplines are invited to join the discussions, present papers, participate in debates, or observe. Presenters are asked to submit an extended abstract (about 2 pages) or a 3-5 page discussion paper outlining their ideas and questions. A volume of the submitted abstracts and papers is planned for publication. The deadline for submission is October 31, 2024.

Participation is free, but registration is required.
