Association for Marketing Education and Research (EMOK)
XXXI. International Conference
Kaleidoscope of disciplines – Marketing as a transdisciplinary field
Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences
Department of Management and Business Economics
Nádas Tó Park Hotel****, Vasad, Hungary
25-27 August 2025
Dear Colleagues!
The role of academics who research and teach marketing as a science has become particularly complex in recent years. We need not only to keep abreast of developments in the discipline, but also to prepare the next generation of researchers and practitioners in an ever-changing environment.
This work has long required us to synthesise theoretical foundations and integrate the latest findings from economics, psychology, sociology, cognitive science, management, data science and technology, among others, while educators must critically examine how these bodies of knowledge are transforming the practical application of marketing. We need to find a balance between teaching classic marketing theories and presenting new models based on digital innovations, as both approaches are essential for students to understand the modern marketing environment.
These challenges, we believe, make it particularly important that the topic is also addressed at the annual EMOK conference, where members of the scientific community can together seek solutions to current problems in marketing education and research. We welcome academics and researchers from institutions within and beyond the country who are related to marketing or its connected fields, so that we can get to know each other's views and the possibility of integrating different fields and disciplines. We will also address important dilemmas such as the need for educators to constantly adapt to technological developments or the difficulties of synthesis between different disciplines. The aim of this conference is therefore not only to be a platform for shaping the scientific discourse, but also to play a key role in defining the future of marketing science in Hungary, especially in linking education, research and disciplines.
The complex theme requires a complex location, which is why the Nádas Tó Park Hotel was chosen, close to the capital, Budapest, for a quiet, peaceful, yet diverse programme (https://nadaspihenopark.hu/en/). Address: 2211 Vasad, Monori út 100. GPS coordinates: 47.336174,19.419156
